About Domain Names

The first step to establish an internet presence is to register a domain name which is unique, much like a registered a trading name. You can register a domain name yourself but there are advantages in having me do it for you.

Good and Bad Domain Names

Example...

Good Domain Name: golf.com.au
Bad Domain Name: golfcentre.com

Why?

The word "centre" has been spelt incorrectly. The internationally accepted spelling is "center"
The extention .com.au is more relevant to Australia than .com
(Hosting your site in Australia will offset this negative.)

What, How and Where to Buy a Domain Name?

Do not buy an Australian domain name (name.com.au or name.net.au or name.org.au) from a business or website not located or based in Australia!

I use NETREGISTRY.com.au for Australian domain names.
I use GoDaddy.com for all other domain names.

I have used others but am happy to say these choices are based on client satisfaction and user support from the providers mentioned above.
